Finding My Space

At my parents’ house, chaos brews and spills,

a drink tipped over, laughter erupts,

my siblings paint memories with stories that thrill,

each tale a grand saga, while I just feel stuck.

I listen as they talk, recounting each deed,

yet here I am small, a shadow at play,

wishing to find where I fit in their speed,

while each memory dances, carving my way.

In a whirl of voices, I strive to be heard,

but find myself lost, in their laughter, so vast,

trying to gather a single small word,

but the night rolls on, and I’m lost in the past.
