Decision at Midnight

A coin flips, spins, catching the light,

the air thick with laughter, anticipation drawn—

will it be tails, a choice to delight,

or heads, and I wake to a mundane dawn?

This small, gleaming piece, so light in my hand,

a chance call to fate in a restless night,

every heartbeat a whisper, I barely understand—

which path to walk, which path is right?

In this moment, I leave it to chance’s cruel hand,

waiting, breath held, for destiny’s voice,

because sometimes the future feels oddly planned—

and sometimes, a flip brings a world of choice.
