When Belief Breaks

A laugh cuts through the air, sharp,

a dismissal of my truth,

saying I’m too sensitive,

yet those words slice deeper,

each one a tiny crack in the porcelain of my heart.

It's an invisible bruise,

a tender spot where faith erodes,

each smirk another layer of disbelief

slipping through my fingers like sand.

Here I stand,

with my truth tucked tightly,

a fragile leaf unfurling,

waiting for the sun to catch up—

the weight of validation slipping,

like the last drop of coffee,

spilling unnoticed, in a mug that hardly matters now.
