The roller coaster shudders, metal chains clink,
and I cling to the seat, knuckles white as chalk,
climbing higher, the ground fades to whispers,
my heart beats like the rhythm of the rush,
each click brings me closer, the dizzying thrill,
that moment before the world tilts to oblivion.
I catch a glimpse down, the ground falls away,
yet all I see are those moments piled up,
just waiting to tumble—thoughts pulling tight,
a knot of laughter and fear intertwining,
the sky merges with my breath,
as we rise, suspended, and time suspends—
awaiting that first breath, that tipping point,
when every choice fractures into freefall.
