Waiting for Something

Concrete sprawls in silence, a vacant expanse,

a parking lot echoes with an absent dance.

The sun drapes its warmth on the cracked asphalt floor,

I sit in my car, feeling lost evermore.

Shadows stretch long in this liminal space,

where dreams parked beside me have vanished without trace.

The hum of my engine breaks the stillness, a sigh,

as if all the hopes parked here silently cry.

I stare at the lines, like the paths we once knew,

those plans that unraveled, as time swiftly flew.

A flicker of purpose, though loneliness looms,

I wait here, alone, where the longing still blooms.
