Fractured Wholeness

A mug rolls off the edge, shatters the calm,
a sharp crack breaks silence, a heart like a bomb.
Two halves glisten, reflections of pain,
each piece holds a moment, a whisper of strain.
Fragile connections, so easy to sever,
life’s little treasures—both lost and endeavor.
I sweep up the pieces, but hold back my breath,
for in every fracture, there’s a story of death.
