Seeking Connections

I reach for the extension cord, sprawled on the floor,

a lifeline tangled in yesterday’s mess,

it stretches and pulls, needing more than before,

to find the right outlet for thoughts to express.

Each twist and turn in the wires like fate,

a pathway forgotten, just waiting to spark,

connecting my thoughts like it’s never too late,

even when darkness wraps 'round, leaving marks.

In this jumbled nest, I weave through my mind,

searching for solace in every connection,

yearning for moments, the kind I can find,

strung between feelings, a fragile affection.
