Halfway There

Stuck between choices, I wrestle with this damn zipper,

it's caught halfway, teeth grinding against fabric,

a metaphor for life, neither here nor there,

with every tug, a frustration rising, like bile,

as if every piece I try to fasten just won’t meet.

In this small moment, I feel the weight of urgency,

like the world holds its breath, waiting for me to fix,

what should’ve been simple, a quick, easy motion,

but here I am, caught in the space, half-formed,

a reminder that sometimes, we’re all just stuck.
