On the sidewalk a glint caught my eye

On the sidewalk, a glint caught my eye,

a penny, copper, gleaming in morning light,

a tiny miracle, simple yet profound,

each scratch, a story buried deep within.

Picking it up, I feel the weight of wishes,

a memory of childhood under flickering lamps,

a coin toss for luck, for dreams unspooled,

its surface smooth yet rough with tales,

a reminder that even the smallest things

have their moments, and they mean so much.
