Awakening to Newness

A small weight rests on my collarbone,

a soft head nestling in, and with it—

a rush of everything I’ve known and felt,

every heartbeat in sync with this tiny miracle,

fluttering breaths that linger,

aching to understand the enormity of existence.

I cradle the world,

a fragile whisper wrapped in warmth,

each inhale, a promise of all that’s possible—

a life yet unwritten, full of laughter and stumbles,

fragility cradled gently, like holding a breath too long,

as if to let go means to lose something precious,

reminding me how life unfurls,

how we begin anew, each day,

a constant dawning of light.
