I spat it out like fire, burning the air around us,
words jagged and raw, but they slipped out like truth,
where silence had been festering.
You never listen, I declared, with a knife-edge voice,
watching your face, caught between the shock and the sting,
a mirror reflecting hurt.
I thought of what else I could’ve said, the tenderness left unsaid,
but instead, I watched the cracks spread,
as if honesty was a curse, heavy and bright—
in the echo of that moment, we stood in our own shadows.
