Under Pressure

The nurse wrote the numbers, anxiety flowed,

my thoughts held like anchors, a heavy load.

Blood racing hot, like a car in the night,

a pulse through my veins, shadowed fears in my sight.

Tight in my chest, I wonder what weighs,

as I sit in this silence, my mind starts to sway.

Each reading a warning, a call for release,

a moment to pause, and perhaps find my peace.
