Solitude on a Saturday

The train’s rumble fades, an emptiness pulls—

yesterday's map scattered across my palms,

a city unwrapped beneath a sun-swathed sky,

the taste of coffee hot against chill fingers.

I wander streets unknown, my heart a compass,

each corner a promise, each step another heartbeat.

A bench invites me, kissed by golden light,

leaves swirl like whispered secrets, untouched.

I smile at my reflection, a stranger at ease,

this thrill of independence stitching paths anew,

every sip a celebration, every glance a chance,

understanding the beauty of being alone,

in a world filled with voices, my own still.
