Fragmented

This morning shattered with one careless slip,
a glass hit the floor, and time fractured wide,
fragments of promise, of whispers that grip,
all scattered and sharp like the truth I can’t hide.
Thoughts tangled up, a conversation gone wrong,
distracted in madness, and suddenly—crack!
each piece a reminder of how I don’t belong,
a reflection of me in the chaos that’s stacked.
Sharp shards glint under light, jagged and bright,
and I kneel in the silence, picking up pain,
just like those pieces, I feel split in the night,
a heart full of longing, a promise in vain.
