The Price of Beauty

Scrolling through images, I see the facade,

where beauty is purchased, the price set too hard.

A lipstick cap rolled under the sink,

remnants of glamour that make one think.

Behind every contour, there’s pain laced with care,

like sequined dresses that hide the despair.

And the cost of this image, the price of this strain,

a currency traded for pleasure and pain.
