The Space Between

In the stillness of my room, shadows spill wide,
a gap, just a sliver, where worlds tend to fray,
light seeps in softly, a quiet divide,
between the embrace and the heart led astray.
Sorting through laundry, the mundane blooms,
I catch a glimpse of isolation’s sheen,
it whispers of closeness and lingering gloom,
how a door’s little crack holds both hope and unseen.
