Thoughts in the Standstill

Brake lights blink in a red sea,

a languid pulse of stop-and-go,

each second stretching, tying my mind,

as I ponder moments, soft and slow.

A horn blares, a reminder of haste,

but here, in this asphalt tangle,

thoughts float like dandelions caught in a gust,

old dreams, regrets, they twist and wrangle.

The glow of headlights cuts through the dusk,

shadows dance on the dashboard’s face,

a hum of engines, tired and strained,

in this stillness, I find my place.
