Moments of Uncertainty

The clock ticks louder here, its hands moving like lead,

where conversations murmur in corners, hushed and heavy,

each whispered word, a brick in the wall of waiting.

I watch faces flip through worry, lost in their own fears,

they are caught in the web of time, like me,

in this sterile room of antiseptic and anxiety.

Outside, life flows past like a river,

while I’m anchored in stillness, waiting for news—

with each passing second, a breath held tight,

a heart thudding louder as moments blur into one.
