Yogurt Coupon

Mrs. Gable,

bent over a cart.

Her voice, thin,

tearing something apart.

A crumpled coupon,

for yogurt, peach.

Not the sharp giant,

just out of reach.

Sagging cardigan, grey.

The cashier, bored.

She was just a person,

unadored.
