Forgotten Things

Batteries hiding in shadows, I sift through the dust,

a faded dinosaur, lost and encrusted.

Its bright colors dulled, a relic of joy,

a memory wrapped tight in the coils of a toy.

In the chaos of life, we tucked it away,

but here in the drawer, it begs me to stay.

I chuckle at time, how it stirs up our past,

and dust motes dance gently, these moments hold fast.
