Shattered Reflections

I watch them together, two hearts on display,

laughter like sunlight, they shine in the fray.

My chest holds a glass, shattering slight,

as I witness their joy, fading out of sight.

Intertwined hands rest on the table so near,

each glance a dagger, each smile crystal clear.

I’m caught in their warmth, yet I freeze in the chill,

as love’s gentle tide sweeps me over the hill.
