Before the Black

The sunset bleeds color, my breath held tight,
watching the glow as it yields to the night.
A single streetlight flickers, cutting the gloom,
a reminder of moments, of all that can bloom.
Tonight, the horizon folds inward on dreams,
as silence envelops, unraveling seams.
These fragile reflections, they ripple and flow,
the warmth of the day bows, then lets go.
I linger in twilight, where hope fights the dark,
a last gasp of light, an unanswered spark.
