Reflecting on laughter a bittersweet taste

Reflecting on laughter, a bittersweet taste,

those moments we cherished now feel out of place.

Bumping into an old friend, we shared a good laugh,

about nights we thought we were comedy’s staff.

But humor turned hollow, like a joke with no spark,

what once brought us joy now feels stuck in the dark.

Half-torn tickets from concerts we swayed,

lie crumpled and silent, like dreams that betrayed.

We laughed till we cried, till we gasped for our breath,

but the punchlines have faded, leaving echoes of death.

What was once pure delight is now tangled in sorrow,

the funny can wither; we’re left with tomorrow.
