Storm Brewing

In the distance, I hear it—a rumble, a growl,

like thoughts in my mind that gather and prowl.

Thunder rolls in, shaking the silence awake,

as I watch the dark clouds, a storm on the make.

Raindrops begin splattering, soft whispers of dread,

like unresolved issues that dance in my head.

The windows rattle softly, as shadows take flight,

while flashes of lightning pierce through the night.

Each drop tells a story, a memory to wring,

the weight of the weather, the fears it can bring.

As I stand by the window, lost in the fray,

the storm echoes loudly, I’m swept far away.
