Eyes in the Dark

In the café's warm glow, I feel them draw near,

shadows of strangers, their gazes unclear.

Pen in my hand, thoughts spill in a race,

while someone observes, their scrutiny's trace.

A tremor of panic, I write, feeling bare,

the weight of their watchfulness heavy in air.

In this world of connection, where silence ignites,

I scribble my secrets, yet hide from their sights.
