Fleeting Wisdom

I opened a box, buried deep in the past,

a faded letter from her, the wisdom amassed.

The scent of lavender still lingered there,

her unmistakable script danced through the air.

"Expectations weigh heavy, child, don’t you see?"

I read those words, finally feeling the plea.

The burdens I carry, like stones in a sack,

each one a reminder of moments I lack.

She warned me of choices, the paths that we take,

and how they can haunt you, the hearts that they break.

With each turning page, I felt the embrace,

as her voice whispered softly, time’s tender trace.
