Lost Laughter

I scroll through my phone, chuckling at memes,

a relic of humor that once filled my heart,

now the jokes feel like shadows, distant dreams,

that faded to whispers, and laughter apart.

Remember the night we roared at that clip?

Rolling on floors, the punchlines we shared,

now just a void, a ghost in the script,

your texts ask for updates, but joy has been bared.

The meme that once tickled now sits like a stone,

the humor we wielded like blades in the air,

barbed wire around memories, laughter now blown,

where joy once ignited, only silence lays bare.

I sigh at the loss of that bright, laughing glow,

that creased every smile, now feels brittle and slow.
