The key felt wrong

The key felt wrong.

Too light.

In my hand.

Driving to the store.

This car smells.

Not like me.

Faintly of dog.

And stale coffee.

The upholstery.

Pattern I don't know.

Worn smooth.

Where someone else sits.

I adjust the mirror.

See a stranger's face.

This whole drive.

Feels like I’m visiting.

Someone else’s life.
