Spring Awakening

The first rays of sun spill across the pavement,

melting memories of frost, a gentle statement.

I stepped outside, warmth wrapping tight,

breaking the chill with a sweet, bold light.

A puddle reflects blue skies above,

air smells of thaw, it feels like a love.

Each blade of grass, once frozen, now sways,

breathing in spring, ushering longer days.
