Slipped in a pocket the paper brings back

Slipped in a pocket, the paper brings back,

a rush of emotions on this familiar track.

Each number reminds me of moments once spent,

and the life that I led, each dollar well lent.

Coffee stains tell stories like ink on my heart,

time written in figures, a ledger of art.

Every purchase significant, weighty in thought,

these transactions of life leave their mark, cannot rot.
