Fleeting Joys

Old photos sprawled like a vintage display,
I stumbled on laughter, so bright on that day.
A birthday, balloons, and the smiles that broke free,
but shadows grow longer, they bleed into me.
That snapshot's a promise, yet the smile's a trap,
it flickers and fades like a quick little clap.
I felt the warmth vanish, just dust in the air,
a sweet recollection becomes heavy despair.
