Lines of Memory

Click of the latch, the tape stretches long,

memories unfurl as I measure the song.

Walls waiting for shelves, but my heart takes the lead,

reminded of laughter, my father’s soft creed.

“Measure twice, cut once,” the echo rings clear,

while I stumble and fumble, old lessons appear.

Each inch holds a moment, a history laid bare,

a bond built on laughter, still floating in air.
