Cold Inside

Walking into the church, a shiver runs deep,

as winter’s breath wraps me, secrets to keep.

The chill in the air, a stark, biting layer,

reminds me of prayers once whispered in prayer.


Frost on the windows, the stained glass aglow,

reflecting my doubts in the shadows below.

I search for a comfort, but find only cold,

a silence that echoes the stories retold.
