A rearview mirror

I glanced in the mirror, a flicker of past,

streetlights fading, memories, shadows cast.

The ghost of my childhood, blurred in the haze,

like photographs fading, lost in a daze.

Who is this stranger, reflecting my pain?

a life I once held, now slipping like rain.

Each turn of the road feels like unspooled thread,

a tapestry woven with all that I dread.
