The moment you realized you were the bully

I heard echoes of laughter, harsh words in the hall,

faded posters of innocence, too many to recall.

A classmate’s face crumbled under the jest,

where my jokes were sharp daggers, my laughter a test.

Did I ever think twice, how deep could they cut?

Innocent then, now I see who I shut.

The weight of a chuckle can bury the soul,

as I recognize my past—a hand on my goal.
