Your reflection and not recognizing it

Took a selfie, thought I’d capture a smile,

but that face staring back seemed a stranger, awhile.

The fog on the mirror hid truths I once knew,

as I leaned closer, that distance just grew.

A foreign image, it blinked, it stared,

who is this person, and how much have they bared?

Caught off guard, unprepared for the sight,

I wonder who lives there, shrouded in light.
