Daydreams of Departure

A map lays unfurled, ink still aglow,

a country I’ve yearned for, untouched and bright.

Photos of Japan drift through, soft like snow,

each cherry blossom petal, a whisper of light.

I ache for the streets where my dreams might run wild,

to feel the pulse of a culture unknown.

With every deep breath, I’m a wandering child,

in my mind’s quiet corner, forever alone.
