Bite of the Past

In the depths of a drawer, I found what remains,

a gum wrapper crumpled, with memories’ stains.

Teeth marks engraved, like ghosts of a time,

a late-night conversation, laughter in rhyme.

The sweetness is faded, yet still it recalls,

the magic of moments when nothing enthralls.

A taste of connection that lingers and hums,

though the echoes have faded, the heart still succumbs.
