The photo that shouldn’t be

Edges curled, tucked behind receipts,

a face frozen in a smile

I tried to forget.

Eyes catch mine,

a ghost staring through years,

silence thicker than dust.

I close the drawer,

heart heavier with the weight

of what shouldn’t exist.
