Sleepless Nights

The mattress lies bare on the floor,

no frame to hold the weight of dreams,

just echoes of rest, a hollow store,

where thoughts weave and unravel at the seams.

Awake in a tangle of blankets and doubt,

the wall stares back, my only friend,

with morning light spilling, inside out,

a familiar dance with no clear end.
