Unremarkable Heat

A cup fills with water, barely warm,

each swirl a symbol of being stuck,

neither hot nor cold, just a quiet storm,

a reminder of life’s fickle luck.

It settles, stillness in the glass,

I watch it linger, reflect my state,

caught between warmth and chilling pass,

a half-full existence, a lingering weight.
