A text arrives unexpected unclear

A text arrives, unexpected, unclear,

my heart takes a leap, both anxious and near.

“Meet someone new,” my father’s voice said,

my half-sibling waiting, the past pulling thread.

In the café’s corner, we share timid smiles,

a map of our lives drawn in uncharted miles.

Familiar yet strange, two paths intertwine,

a dance of connection, a story divine.

Will we bridge the gaps, or drift into air?

The laughter, the silence, a tapestry rare.

In this moment of meeting, where worlds collide,

I grasp at the hope that we won’t have to hide.
