Barefoot Thoughts

Grass cool beneath me, the sun warming skin,

I shed my shoes slowly, as worries drift in.

Each blade a reminder, of moments untold,

a soft, fleeting freedom from burdens of old.

Yet as I stand there, heart wild and free,

my mind wanders back to the battles I flee,

a life in the shuffle, a search for release,

rooted in nature, yet craving some peace.
