Inward Soundwaves

Stairs creak underfoot, a familiar refrain,

as shadows brush past, weaving joy and pain.

I hear muffled arguments, a neighbor’s fierce cries,

clanging like metal, beneath dimming skies.

Each step is a memory, a chorus of sighs,

a canvas of feelings, beneath muted lies.

Familiarity gnaws, with each rise and fall,

echoes of laughter entwined with the call.

Between the walls, stories find ways to seep,

every heartbeat lingers, secrets to keep.

As I walk through this passage, a depth I can feel,

it’s not just their pain, it’s the wound that we heal.
