Looking Backward

Stuck in this traffic, time drags like a chain,

every glance in the mirror pulls me back to the pain.

Reflections of choices play tricks on the mind,

a face caught in moments, the past intertwined.

Each car creeping slowly, a heartbeat misplaced,

questions unasked weigh down the space.

I wonder what’s different if I turn back the dial,

can I shape those regrets, can I change up my style?
