Memories of a City Gone

The pavement cracked under memories thin,

a city that crumbled beneath where I’ve been.

Once bright with laughter, now shadowed by rust,

and all of my wishes lie scattered in dust.

I click through the pixels of bygone days,

replaying the echoes, the long-lost ways.

But the skyline has faded, and I know in my heart,

I’ll never return, where the dreams fell apart.
