Unpacking Memories

Boxes stacked high like silent sentinels stand,

each corner a whisper of the life I have lived.

I find a note from my mother, her delicate hand,

bittersweet ink spills the love that she’d give.

As I pack away letters, nostalgia unfurls,

each folded sheet carries echoes of home.

A shoe left by the door, reminders and pearls,

I’m moving, yet holding, a heart far from Rome.
