I ran into you at the market a splitsecond dance

I ran into you at the market, a split-second dance,

eyes flickering with memories, tangled and bruised,

as a song spun out on the radio, pulling me back—

an old love, now a stranger, yet just out of reach.

The basket in my hand felt heavy, but I grinned,

as if to pretend we could unearth what was lost,

but the melody wove through us, binding and tearing,

a reminder that some fractures never truly heal.
