My sister called her voice trembling with new life

My sister called, her voice trembling with new life,

it was a jolt, unexpected, a spark caught in the air,

as she spoke, I felt the shadows of decisions past,

weighing heavy, the question of want hung thick.

I listened to her laughter, a nervous twinkle,

wrapped in her joy, yet it tugged at my heart,

a mirror of choices, unchosen paths at my feet,

the weight of wanting, shifting like the sands.
