Translucent Truths

I stood in the light this morning, a shimmer on the floor,

watching my reflection shift like a memory,

the spilled water pooling, fading at the edges,

an impression caught in a sunbeam’s sigh.

It all felt ephemeral, the contours of my face,

the light made me question what’s real, what’s there,

like an illusion playing hide and seek with my mind—

a mirage dissolving, little by little, in the glare.
